Nina Wånggren (eng)
Nina Wånggren was born in Stockholm, Sweden, where she also lives and works. She has a BA in Art History, for which she specialised in contemporary art and interpretation. Nina works mainly in the media of photography, acrylic, watercolor and ink.
Nina's work explores the complex relationships between human beings, examined through an engagement with nature and its intricate patterns. Objects, colours and shapes found in nature – such as the construction of a tree or the patterns of a leaf – are used in order to illustrate or question the ways in which we communicate with each other and with nature, and also with new technologies.
Nina has exhibited selected works around Stockholm, and has produced commissioned illustrations for organisations such as a radio station and a record company.
